Starting July 8th, join us every Tuesday in July and every Wednesday in August for a hands-on DJ class series designed to take you from beginner to advanced. Learn to mix, scratch, curate playlists, and more—no experience necessary!
To prepare for class, please download Serato DJ Lite found at this link: https://serato.com/dj/lite. Please import all of the music on your laptop into the program and analyze the files. This can take a few hours! Please bring your laptop as well as a set of headphones with a standard 1/8″ headphone jack.
August 6 – House & EDM Mixing
Focus on mixing techniques, tension, and effects unique to House and EDM. Learn to blend tracks using key, structure, and timing for smooth, high-energy transitions.
August 13 – Hip-Hop, R&B & Reggaeton
Explore transitions, basic scratching, and genre-specific song structures. Learn to mix and drop tracks with style across Hip-Hop, R&B, Dancehall, and more.
August 20 – Funk, Rock, Disco & Oldies
Learn beatmatching, swing, and strategies for high-impact playlist building. Understand how to read the crowd and navigate groove vs. sing-along moments.
August 27 – Open-Format Mixing
Combine genres with advanced tools like tone play and wordplay. Discover when to blend creatively and when to stay in a groove to elevate your live sets.
